Witches for Palestine is back!

Witches for Palestine is a project I started in early 2024 but that immediately because a community effort to raise awareness about the Palestinian genocide at the hands of Israel, and to raise funds and support Palestinian families trapped in Gaza and those Palestinian refugees who managed to escape to Cairo, Egypt.

I made two videos about it, we raised about £3000 in two phases, the first one through a GoFundMe raffle in support of Medical Aid for Palestinians, the second with direct aid support to Palestinian families through Cwtches to Gaza.

As an Arab person myself, the last two years of uninterrupted Genocide (and the previous 75 years of blatant colonisation of the land of Palestine by the white supremacist endorsed colony of Israel) have been an incredible learning curve. Before October 7th, the only thing I kept hearing was the classic media agenda supporting Israel “right to defend itself” and the “it’s a complicated issue”.

I realised that most of the prejudices and the racism people and institutions had towards Arab people like myself, come exactly from the depiction and demonisation of Arab people, tarring us all as simply lower than human, or terrorists, or both, while mainstream media reinforces the narrative of Israel coming to liberate, educate, and bring economic splendour to the land of Palestine.

A land that Zionists will tell you was “a land without people for a people without land”. If you’ve come across any of the Israeli Settlers interviews, it’s blood chilling gaslighting, bullying, entitlement and downright sociopathy. And for those claiming these are antisemitic statements I will kindly point you to the list of amazing Jewish people (Ilan Pappe, Gabor Mate, Noam Chomski, Jewitches on instagram to stay in the theme of witchy activism) that Zionists will dismiss calling them “self-hating jews”.

This is to reiterate that disinformation has got us for over seven decades, and people have woken up about who’s the Villain, the coloniser, the abuser in the Palestine-Israel conflict, which is not a conflict, it’s Genocide of Palestinian people at the hands of Israel.
